Don’t Insult Our Leaders; They Mean A Lot To Us - Bishop Salifu Amoako Advices Twene Jonas

The Founder and Leader of Alive Chapel International, Bishop Dr Elisha Salifu Amoako says he is not against the social media influencer, Twene Jonas for doing a video to showcase the development in America to provoke the leaders in this country into action.

According to him, our leaders should take inspiration from the video of Twene Jonas showing how the Americans have developed their country and do the same for mother Ghana even though it has taken America 400 years to develop as against 64-year-old Ghana.

In an interview with the media on Sunday afternoon June 13, 2021, in his office, Dr Salifu Amoako was optimistic that Ghana can achieve something significant if the leaders can do away with corruption, selfishness and greediness as well as avoiding a situation where a party in government will steal from the state coffers and impoverish the entire citizens.

“I am not against what he is doing by showing the development in America, but it took time before America got to where it is now. We can also do the same; our leaders should take inspiration from some of the sensible things he is highlighting and do the same for the country,” he stated.

“We should develop our country and create more jobs for the next generations and that is the good side that I support the young man for reminding our leaders, but the bad side is that he cannot insult our leaders,” he stressed.

He reiterated that inasmuch as he is not against Twene Jonas’ video to highlight the development in America, he hates the fact that he has attached insult to the videos; reminding him that the cultural setting of the country does not allow young ones to insult and disrespect elders and fathers.

“He has insulted Otumfuo[D1], the President and other leaders in this country and now he has graduated from that to engage in a religious battle. As for the religious battle, the moment you push yourself in it, you are done. He is a young boy and he should not fight battles he cannot win and he should learn to choose his battle very well because if he does not take care, his youthful mistake can fight his future,” he cautioned.

He added that Ghanaians will not sit down for him [Jonas] to insult their fathers and leaders even though he cannot be begrudged for urging our leaders to develop the country just as America is developed.
