Abiola Bawuah Foundation Donates To People of Nsiakrom And Adinkrakrom In Ashanti Region

Abiola Bawuah Foundation(ABF), has donated to people of Nsiakrom and Adinkrakrom in the Ashanti region.

This exercise is part of The 100 Girls Support Project which was launched on October 11, 2018, while the world observed the International Day of the Girl. The project is supposed to cover all the 16 regions in Ghana.

The award-winning non-profit organization, ABF once again set the Thames on fire as they gave out some items to school girls and parents in the Nsiakrom and Adinkrakrom township.

Nsiakrom, a hamlet in the Asante-Akyem Central Municipality in the Ashanti region was the first to receive the donation after which the team headed to Adinkrakrom.

There was a small durbar organized by the Queen Mother of the town to welcome the ABF team led by the project officer, Geraldine Osafo Ntiri. Teachers and parents in the town also graced the occasion as they welcomed the ABF team for the second time in two years due to the pandemic.

The schoolgirls received items such as books, school bags, school uniforms, socks, and deodorants. Life have always been difficult for the people of Nsiakrom especially pupils, due to the absence of electricity, they hardly study at night. ABF recognizing this problem came to the aid of the schoolgirls by giving them torchlights.  The schoolgirls expressed their contentment while they moved from one friend to the next comparing the items they received.

Parents also received ‘used clothes' so they could wear them to the farm since the area was a farming community. This was quite a bolt from the blue, however, one could see the joy that covered the faces of these parents.

Adinkrakrom was not left out, there also, schoolgirls and some parents received their share of the donation. This was when Geraldine Osafo Ntiri and her team had finished with Nsiakrom. Items such as school uniforms, school bags, socks, deodorants, and more were given out.

Excitement filled every part of their bodies while they received the items in exchange for thanksgiving.

The whole donation wouldn’t have been successful but for the kind courtesy of  companies such as UNFPA, Unilever Ghana Limited, Coca-Cola, FanMilk Ghana Limited,  Lexta Ghana Limited,  and Energprojekt Ghana Limited who reached out to ABF when the need arose.
