Youth Of Western North Region Celebrate Their Heroes And Heroines

A Community that honours its heroes/ heroines is worth dying for. It is in this direction that the Youth of Western North underscore the essence of honouring and appreciating well deserving individuals who pushed for the creation of the Western-North Region, and, as well, celebrating their selfless contributions and humanitarian acts. The awards comes after a conference organised for the youth of the region on the theme, ' The Youth, a Catalyst for Growth and Development" under the scope of the Western-North Youth Foundation.

On 27th November, 2021 at Sefwi Wiawso, Datano Pastoral Center, the youth bestow on well deserving 78 senior citizens of the region.
The list encompasses the Paramount Chiefs in the region, including the Ghana National House of Chief President, Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi II, Katakyie Kwasi Bumagama II, the Western North Regional Council of State representative, and among others.

Hon. Augustine Blay; the executive Secretary to the vice president of Ghana, who hails from the region is also celebrated for his contributions towards the development of the region. Current Regional Minister, who as a youth, occupies the highest Executive Seat of the region receives an award for his achievements and initiatives.

It is worthy to make mention of the fact that all the 9 current Members of Parliament, other former MPs and Regional Ministers of Western and Western North Region receive their fair share of the awards.

The list goes on as CEOs of Companies which have created jobs for the youth are not overlooked. Among them are: Mr. George Wireko-Brobby ( CEO of Xylogi Co.Ltd), Mr. Micheal Aidoo (Big Aidoo Construction Ltd), Mr. Kwame Amoah Nyame Junior (CEO of Kan Rayol Co. Ltd), Mr. William Benjamin Assuah, Mr. Michael Enoku (Ceo of Joyful Attitude Limited (Jae Modern Health Services), Mr. Fredrick Addy(Freddy's), Mr. Buabeng Dacosta(BUADAC Timber), Mr. Frank Cudjoe(Cocoa Sika),

Individuals who have attained higher height in Education and other profession such as Justice Edward Amoako Asante (President of ECOWAS Court of Jutice & Judge of Apeal Court Of Ghana), Francis-Xavier Andoh-Adjei (Director Of Research, Policy, And Monitoring & Evaluation At The NHIA), Prof. S.B. OWUSU MINTAH (Former Acting Pro-Vice Chancellor of Cape Coast Technical University), Dr. Joseph Kofi Nkuah (Ghana National Procurement Authority Board of Director), and Prof. Robert Aidoo, an associate professor of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology on the other hand are acknowledged.

Other sectors for the awards are Agriculture, Health, Media, among others.

According to the initiators of this Excellence Awards, The Western North Youth Foundation, the ceremony emphasis the need to reward people for their good work. In a speech by Dr David Tetteh, he said, "Hard-work pays, but recognizing the efforts and contributions of individuals to society is worth everything for people to keep giving out their best in anything they do."

To the Western North Youth Foundation, being grateful makes one himself/herself deserving of yet another kindness, and so, they need to celebrate these distinguished individuals while they are alive in order that they continue to do more for the Region.
