Ahmed Ibrahim Bound To Lose Banda Seat - Joe Danquah

The Chief Executive Officer of the Middle Belt Development Authority (MBDA) and the NPP parliamentary candidate for Banda, Mr Joe Danquah has disclosed that Member of Parliament for Banda, Hon. Ahmed Ibrahim will certainly lose his seat come 2020.

He says everything happening in the constituency within this voter registration period indicates that Hon. Ahmed Ibrahim is bound to lose the seat he has been occupying since 2008.

Speaking on Okay FM's 'Ade Akye Abia' programme, the one-time Member of Parliament for the area explained that having worked in the constituency as MP and stayed with them, he believes that the people are fed up with Ahmed Ibrahim and need a paradigm change hence their decision to vote the MP out.

"Banda used to be a very peaceful constituency until Ahmed Ibrahim took over the constituency as a member of parliament. The constituency has known no peace. He has even attempted to take my life yet he goes about parading himself as a pentecostal elder," he accused the MP.

"Having known the Banda Constituency, I believe that the people of Banda want peace and will not engage in any activity that will disrupt or jeopardize the relative peace they are enjoying in the constituency," he added.

The Defence Minister has said the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) and National Democratic Congress (NDC) are guilty of busing people to registration centres in Banda.

“Both parties were busing people. I am not going to sit down here and say it is only one party that was busing. They were all guilty of doing it. That is the briefing I had from the military,” he disclosed

Some residents in Banda in the Bono Region have complained about alleged intimidation by security officials hindering their willingness to participate in the registration process.
