2020 Elections: Greater Accra NPP Ready To Snatch More Seats From NDC

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has geared toward securing more seats in the 2020 general elections in the Greater Accra Region by projecting the good works of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

To this effect, the party yesterday, 24th September 2020 launched training programmes to strategically equip the grassroots with the needed information to guide them in their preparation towards Election 2020.

This event dubbed “Maintain and Increase the Number of Parliamentary Seats in Greater Accra” is designed to maintain and increase the number of Parliamentary seats, secure massive support and votes for President Nana Addo through a well structured electioneering campaign.

The campaign is said to involve collective efforts of all constituency Youth Organizers, the GAR TESCON Secretariat, all TESCON Local Chapters and all volunteer groups of the NPP situated in the Greater Accra Region.

Moses Abor, the Greater Accra Regional Youth Organizer of the party, stated that "President Nana Addo has performed greatly for the three and half year mandate entrusted to him by Ghanaians, and I can boldly say without any doubt that his achievements as far as this fourth Republican Era is concerned are unprecedented".

"President Nana Addo made bold pledges during the 2016 Presidential and Parliamentary elections and I am proud to say that he has been able within three and half years achieved 80% of those promises as captured in the 2016 NPP Manifesto", he added.

He also highlighted some of President Akufo-Addo’s achievements for three and Half years saying, “His Excellency President Nana Addo has successfully implemented the following: One District One Factory, NABCO:100, 000 young persons have been employed, YEA has employed over 70, 000 young people, Recruitment of 8,872 Teachers, Recruitment of 1, 445 Non-Teaching Staff, Recruitment of 54,000 nurses, Recruitment of 18,000 other health workers, Recruitment of 1,174 Environmental Health Officers/Assistants, Recruitment of over 12,000 Security Personnel, Hundred and five thousand three hundred job creation in cocoa industry, Eighty Three Thousand youth employed by forestry commission, 1,438 jobs under national board for small scale industries, Unprecedented infrastructure projects in SHS and basic schools-1,200 infrastructural projects in SHS and 557 at the basic, Restoration of Teacher trainees allowance: in 2020 fiscal year alone, Ghc357 million has been paid to 48,000 teachers, Initiated a Decentralized local government system, Free water, Free Electricity For Ghanaians, Abolishing of three Months Salary Pay Policy, Six Hundred Million Ghana Cedis Coronavirus Alleviation Programme Business Support Scheme for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Jobs under Labour Department 2,250 persons in gainful Employment, The Almighty FREE SHS 1.2 Million children benefiting from Free SHS''.

He also stressed that NDC should forget their intention of dominating the Parliamentary representation in Greater Accra because they are determined to ensure they go the extra mile to secure more votes.

“I believe we have every reason to be here to ensure the achievement of the agenda 2020 of the New Patriotic Party to enable President Nana Addo to continue his good leadership services to the people of Ghana.”
