Kwamena Duncan, Minister for Central Region, has applauded the Electoral Commission (EC) over the Commission's event yesterday to determine the arrangement of candidates on the ballot paper.

Parties' Position On 2020 Ballot Paper

At a short ceremony at the Headquarters of the Electoral Commission, the qualified parties chose the position of their candidates on the ballot paper.

The ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) picked the first position on the ballot paper while the largest opposition National Democratic Congress represented by the party's deputy General Secretary, Mr. Peter Boamah Otukonor selected number two (2) position for his party.

The Ghana Union Movement came third, Convention People's Party chose fourth, Ghana Freedom Party is fifth, Great Consolidated People’s Party is sixth, All People’s Congress selected seventh position, the Liberal Party Ghana, People’s National Congress, Progressive Peoples Party, National Democratic Party and independent candidate Alfred Kwame Asiedu Walker will come eighth, ninth, tenth, eleventh and twelveth respectively on the ballot paper.

Despite the ceremony, the NDC Deputy General Secretary, Peter Boamah Otukonor picked a bone of contention over the ballot numbers.

EC Has Done A Good Work

But Hon. Kwamena Duncan is satisified with work of  the EC and has showered praises on the Commission for a successful event.

He found no fault with what the Commission did to determine the arrangement of the candidates and in a subtle reply to Otukonor and any person with objections, told them to resort to the law court to addresss their concerns.

“I think that the exercise was good and I want to pat the Electoral Commission on the back,” he said on Wednesday's edition of Peace FM's ''Kokrokoo''.
