What Principles Caused Your Resignation? Tell Us - Dr. Otchere-Ankrah To Okudzeto Ablakwa

Dr. Benjamin Otchere-Ankrah, a lecturer of the Central University, has challenged the Member of Parliament(MP) for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa to disclose the principles on which he has resigned from Parliament's Appointments Committee.

Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa participated in the vetting of some Ministers-designate but after the vetting and approval of Ken Ofori-Atta as Finance Minister, he has issued a letter communicating his decision to resign.

Addressing the letter to the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Bagbin, Hon. Okudzeto Ablakwa stated emphatically that his resignation takes immediate effect.

The North Tongu MP explained his decision comes ''after days of careful reflection and thoughtful considerations. I shall like to state that the reasons for this difficult decision is both personal and on principle", which means he will not be part of the Committee to vet President Nana Akufo-Addo’s Deputy Minister nominees yet to take place.

Dr. Benjamin Otchere-Ankrah says the North Tongu MP's resignation is shrouded in ambiguity.

He stated it will be better for him to make public the set of principles or reasons that informed his decision.

"At what point did he say something didn't go right, so it goes against my principles? When you put it that way, you make it so vague and you'll leave people to speculate. What are your principles which have caused your resignation?'' he queried.
