Kwamena Duncan Praises 'Joe Wise' Over His Unique Move In Approving 2022 Budget

Former Central Regional Minister, Kwamena Duncan, has applauded the move by the Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Joseph Osei-Owusu in getting the 2022 budget approved by Parliament.

The Majority, by 138 representation in Parliament, voted in favour of the budget on Tuesday, November 30, 2021.

This was made possible when Hon. Joseph Osei-Owusu, popularly called 'Joe Wise', sitting in for the Speaker Rt. Hon. Alban Bagbin, counted himself a part of the Majority according to the standing orders of Parliament which permits him as a Member of Parliament for Bekwai to represent his constituents.

Although he didn't vote by a voice vote, he, however played a pivotal role in making the Majority number complete to vote on the budget.

During Peace FM's 'Kokrokoo' on Wednesday, December 1, Kwamena Duncan commended Hon. Osei-Owusu saying, "the fact that he has become a Speaker because the Speaker is not present does not take his power or his authority or his membership or right as a member (representing the people of Bekwai)''.
