Sammi Awuku says the Running Mate of the largest opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang will make no difference as the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia goes head-to-head with the NDC flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama.

Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang was on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 officially and publicly unveiled as Running Mate at an event held at the UPSA.

She served notice to officials of the NPP government that none engaged in an act of corruption will be spared if the NDC comes into power in 2025.

“Across the political divide, across social and professional groupings, among the youth, you hear of complaints and stories concerning state capture, where this government has chosen to use its power not in the broader interest of all Ghanaians but to favor a small clique. What is that?

“John and I have agreed, that whoever has participated in the plunder of the state must be held accountable. This is not a threat; it is a promise, premised on the wishes of our citizens across the various political and social divides, and hinged on the principle of accountability”, she promised.

But to Sammi Awuku, a Senior Campaign Aide of the New Patriotic Party (NPP's) 2024 flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, Prof. Opoku-Agyemang has no A game when it comes to the politics of Ghana.

"In the political space, she hasn't been extraordinary. In the political space, I'm not sure she has done anything above the roof," he stated.

Mr. Awuku though complimenting Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang on her academic prowess, he was however certain she is no match for Dr. Bawumia and his Running Mate who is yet to be declared, stressing the NPP Running Mate will be a "formidable" person.

He made these submissions on Peace FM's "Kokrokoo" morning show.
