Provisional Voters’ Register More Accurate Now . . . 99% of Discrepancies Rectified – Jean Mensa

The Chairperson of the Electoral Commission of Ghana, Madam Jean Mensa, has confidently announced that the Commission has successfully resolved errors in the voter register in anticipation of the 2024 general elections.

"As a Commission, we can confidently state that 99% of the discrepancies detected to date have been resolved," she averred.

During her opening remarks at Tuesday’s Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) meeting held at the Alisa Hotel, Jean Mensa noted the current voters’ register is more accurate than the one used for the voter’s exhibition exercise in August.

According to her, “As a Commission, we have devoted the last few weeks to correcting the discrepancies and you will find that the provisional voters’ register today is different and more accurate than what was exhibited and provided to the parties in August 2024. The discrepancies detected to date have been largely corrected and the register that was presented to parties in early August is very different from what we have today".

“We have a track record of delivering free and fair elections. Our staff are well trained, and we have what it takes to produce a credible register,” Jean Mensa assured.
