Nana Aba, Yvonne Nelson, Lydia Forson, Sandra Ankobiah Tell Prez Akufo Addo To Speak On #EndSars

A number of Ghanaian female celebrities have urged President Nana Akufo-Addo and other African leaders to speak and/or intervene in the ongoing #EndSARS crisis in Nigeria.

Nana Aba Anamoah, Yvonne Nelson, Lydia Forson, and Sandra Ankobiah are among the many stars who are waiting for action from President Akufo-Addo and other African leaders.

Nigeria has been in a tenuous situation since October 8, 2020, thousands pour onto the streets daily in protest of the activities of a police unit called SARS (Special Anti-Robbery Squad).

SARS had reportedly been terrorising the ordinary citizens, especially the youth, and killing many. Barely three days after the protest started, the Nigerian Police Force announced the disbandment of SARS but the protest still went on across some major cities of the countries. Protesters were not satisfied with the disbandment and demanded prosecution for those who committed crimes under SARS.

The Nigerian government, in a bid to repress the protests which have been largely termed as peaceful, has resorted to the use of violence leading to the reported deaths of some protesters.

Below are some of their comments on social media.

You were loud on Black Lives Matter but completely silent on the unfortunate events in Nigeria. Shame on you.
