In The Journey of Life, Keep Walking! - Prince Kofi Amoabeng Advises Ghanaians

Capt. Prince Kofi Amoabeng (rtd), Chief Executive Officer of the defunct UT Financial Services, has given Ghanaians some nuggets of moral life lessons.

The business mogul, who manned one of the most successful financial institutions, creating jobs for over 2,000 Ghanaians, was shot down in 2017 after his institution was rendered insolvent by the Central Bank.

The Bank of Ghana (BoG) on August, 7, 2017 shut down UT Bank for failing to meet the minimum capital requirement.

A BoG statement read; “Despite repeated agreements between the Bank of Ghana and UT Bank and Capital Bank to implement an action plan to address these significant shortfalls, the owners and managers of UT Bank and Capital Bank were unable to increase the capital of the banks to address the insolvency.”

Four (4) years down the line, Capt. Kofi Amoabeng (rtd) has bounced back and this time with his new book titled  'THE UT STORY: Humble beginnings' which details the hidden truths leading to the collapse of the bank.

The book which is described by esteemed broadcaster Kwami Sefa Kayi as a "gripping unput-downable" book is out in various distribution centers and bookshops for grab.

On the lessons he has drawn from the big blow that landed on UT Financial Services, Capt. Kofi Amoabeng(Rtd) in an interview on 'Kokrokoo' on Peace FM Monday morning noted he shares no regrets stressing he's a resilient person.

Like the proverb that says when life throws you lemon, make lemonade, he advised Ghanaians on how to approach life.

"In life, I've learned that it is important to step forward. My business would not exist to that if I had not (at the time, it was existing). I had nothing but the clothes on my back and one pair of shoes. People said you will trip and fall and I replied 'I will rather step forward and fail than live with the failure of standing still. In the journey of life, you will be defined by the amount of times you move forward along the way. Keep walking!", he stated.
